FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I Am A Poor Swimmer. Is This Course Suitable For Me?
The Hit The Ground Running course prepares you to race a sprint or Olympic distance triathlon. To be able to race this distance within 12 weeks we recommend that you can already swim a minimum of 400m for sprint and 1000m for Olympic distance without stopping prior to starting the course.
If you are not yet at this stage we encourage you to start with our Be A Triathlete course first or to get some one-on-one swimming lessons at your local pool.
Do You Teach Swimming Technique In This Course?
To improve your swim technique you need to be committing to a training program that has a swim focus and getting in the pool 4-5 times per week. This level of attention to changing your technique is a great project for the off-season when you are not training towards a specific triathlon.
While our swim sets include some of the fundamentals of the swim stroke the focus of the sets is to improve your strength and aerobic conditioning.
Do You Have A Facebook Group For This Course?
Do I Need Any Specific Equipment For This Course?
You won't need anything extra for the Hit The Ground Running course then you will have used to train for any triathlons previously.
We highly recommend using a heart rate monitor and/or windtrainer for some of the training sets but these are not a requirement.
